Lenotre make great cakes and I even learnt how to make their famous Feuille d’Automne one year. We used to always get a cake from there to celebrate out birthdays but in recent years we have started to get the individual cakes so we can try a few different things.
This was one of the first chocolate cakes we tried. It’s more like a dessert than a proper cake but whatever you want to call it, it was rich, too rich for me.
One of the best cakes I’ve ever had was this chocolate and raspberry cake. Unfortunately I’ve never seen it in the shop since I got it for my birthday in 2007.
The mini Feuille d’Automne is light and chocolaty with lots of meringue and um… chocolate.
Personally I like lemon meringue pies but the lemon is never lemony enough.
It’s a blessing and a curse that a Lenotre shop is just down the road from my house in Paris. I usually only buy them on special occasions but sometimes it’s hard to resist.
